Pram Race on Boxing Day

Preparations for this year’s race are underway but for some years the same small group of volunteers from our community have helped prepare and run the Pram Race on Boxing Day. This group are not available for this year’s race. To raise similar funds in 2018, the committee needs a minimum of four adult volunteers who will give their time in December working with us to complete the final race preparations and to help deliver the event safely on Boxing Day. Details of the four roles are available and full briefings will be given. Community events don’t run themselves – if you want the Pram Race to go ahead this year please contact me as soon as possible at

The Windlesham Pram Race is run each year with the sole purpose of raising money for a wide variety of deserving causes in the local community. After retaining sufficient funds to prepare for the 2018 race the trustees distributed over £9,500 to a wide range of local organisations earlier this year.

As a result of the money raised by the Pram Race together with the Surrey Border Lions Club, the Pram Race trustees are installing a fully automatic public access defibrillator in the phone box at the centre of Windlesham before the end of the year. As a part of this initiative an additional defibrillator will be installed at the Half Moon pub in Church Road. Once the installation is completed we will arrange training for members of the community.
