Hedgehog “Ramp” on the side of our green

Windlesham Bowls Club was  privileged and pleased to welcome world famous Brian May, along with The Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue ,

Amazing Grace and film crew to Windlesham Bowls  Club on 12th July 2018..

They were filming a second programme on the Meet The Hedgehog series, to be shown later this year

on Channel 5, being presented by Steve Backshall . Our Club was pleased to assist them in their desire to bring

awareness to the plight of these delectable tiny creatures.

We have installed a Hedgehog “Ramp” on the side of our green for any unfortunate inquiring individual whom then

falls into the well that surrounds the green, and then cannot escape. It even has signs to assist the Hedgehog to

follow to escape.

We as a club are also very conscious of the environment and now only use organic use fertilizer on our grass to

protect any of the wildlife in our area.

Windlesham Bowls Club are not unaccustomed to welcoming special guests to our club, having recently had the pleasure

Of entertaining The Rt Hon Michael Gove. We are a very welcoming club and are always open to anyone of any age

That would like to “have a go”

The filming was very successful and we were very fortunate that Brian and his team were more than happy to have

a bowling session. So much so that we have have challenged the Harper Asprey team to a bowls match in the near future.

For the Hedgehog Trophy.
