Windlesham Bowls Club proposed extension

Windlesham Bowls Club was privileged and pleased to welcome The RT Hon Michael Gove MP together with Mike Goodwin Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport Surrey County Councillor for Bagshot, Windlesham& Chobham and Frances Reynolds and Susannah Amoore Senior  assistants to Mr Gove.

They very kindly accepted our approach for a visit to our premises, so that we could outline our proposed extension to our facilities in our concerted attempt to provide leisure activities for not only the more mature generation but to encourage a more overall availability for bowls for all ages.

We hope to promote not only additional facilities for bowls but incorporated within the proposed extension would be table tennis and indoor bowls capabilities, along with encouraging involvement from local Schools.

We have known that our Surrey Heath MP has previously shown great interest in promoting involvement of local leisure facilities and indeed he endorsed our request with great enthusiasm

We were fortunate to entice Mr Gove along with Mr Goodman to partake in having a “roll up” in which their performance proved very successful (photos) and afterwards enjoyed a welcome cup of tea in the clubhouse along with club members (photos)

Mr Gove commented that “Windlesham Bowls Club is a fantastic and friendly group of enthusiasts whose warm welcome is always a tonic”
