How You Can Help Tackle Fly-Tipping

Keeping Windlesham Beautiful

Following our successful village litter pick back in September, our fantastic team of volunteers collected dozens of bags of rubbish across Windlesham’s and the surrounding streets. While it was wonderful to see our village looking so tidy, one recurring issue was an increase in fly-tipping.

Dumped furniture, building waste, and garden rubbish damage local wildlife habitats and spoil the natural beauty of our village. The good news is that we all have a very simple tool right in our pockets to deal with it: FixMyStreet.

FixMyStreet directly alerts Surrey Heath Borough Council to fly-tipping, broken streetlights, overgrown hedges, and road defects. It takes less than two minutes to use:

  1. Snap a photo of the dumped item.

  2. Go to FixMyStreet.com (or open the app) and let it pinpoint your location.

  3. Add a quick note describing what’s there and submit.

The sooner an incident is reported, the sooner council teams can schedule a cleanup.

Thank you to everyone who continuously chips in to care for Windlesham.
