Meet Your Councillors 2026: Strengthening Local Dialogue in Windlesham

Why Your Voice Matters at Our Upcoming Councillor Session

National headlines often dominate our screens, while the decisions that shape our immediate, day-to-day lives, from road safety and planning oversight to the protection of our hedgerows and village amenities, happen right here on our doorstep.

At the Windlesham Society, our constitutional purpose is not only to preserve the character of our village, but to foster an engaged, active community. We believe that local democracy works best when it happens at a human scale, where residents and elected representatives can sit in the same room, share perspectives, and hold constructive conversations about the place we all call home.

That is precisely why we host our annual Meet the Councillor sessions.

We provide a neutral, open, and approachable platform where local residents can connect directly with our Parish, Borough, and County councillors. The Society doesn’t take political stances or speak on behalf of individual political views; instead, we build the bridge so you have more opportunities to speak directly with those who represent us.

You don't need to be an expert on council procedure to attend! You are welcome to come in whichever way suits you best:

  • Come to listen: Sit back and hear the dialog between your neighbours and local representatives on key village topics.

  • Ask your representatives: Bring your questions, priorities, and ideas regarding local planning, HGV traffic, green spaces, or parish updates.

Community spirit grows when we take an active interest in our shared environment. We look forward to seeing a full room on the 17th!
